Description
Incremental encoder for velocity feedback with integrated mechanical overspeed switch. With new features such as breathable membrane filter and double shaft seal this new series is made for harsh environments. The MA4501-series is a range of encoders supporting combinations with integrated speed monitoring switches. The overspeed detection is based on a mechanical centrifugal force principle. Once a set limit speed is exceeded will the switch open/close indication the speed tripping via dedicated electrical outputs. These outputs can make/break a Contact or relay with 230V and 6A. The over speed monitoring in conjunction with normal incremental outputs makes the MA4501-suitable for use in safety related applications.
The extreme robust design and encapsulation of the encoder series make it suitable for use in Marine or Off-shore environments. Because of the safety aspect cranes is a standard application for the series. The MA4501 comes with a ø11mm solid shaft with key-way to prevent slip. The mounting flange is compatible to previous tacho generator interfaces including a B10 mounting flange. The entire design is made out of high grade stainless steel.
